LPG the cheaper, cleaner, greener fuel

Click play to watch our short video about the benefits of LPG.

What is LPG?

LPG means Liquid Petroleum Gas and is also known as Autogas. It has been used safely over the world for many decades in homes for cooking, heating and hot water, in industry, farming and for automotive transportation. There are already over 200,000 Lpg vehicles in the UK alone.

Lpg is considerably cheaper than petrol or diesel, and converted cars also emit fewer harmful emissions than vehicles using traditional fuels, making it a cleaner and greener option too!

Economical and Sustainable

In the UK and Ireland we have some of the highest taxes in the world on petrol and diesel, lpg is not only almost half the price of these fuels, it is also a more efficient, sustainable, responsible energy source. With LPG costing about 70 pence per litre less than petrol and diesel it is definitely the more economical choice.

Clean & Green

Lpg is one of the cleanest and most environmentally friendly fuels available.

  • Lpg helps to reduce your carbon footprint – it is a low carbon fuel that produces 17-23% less Co2 compared with petrol.
  • Improves local air quality – one of the major causes of air pollution in the UK, Europe and Ireland is transport. Using lpg reduces greenhouse gas emissions and pollutants that cause serious health problems.
  • Lpg has 50% less ozone forming potential, produces 40% less hydrocarbons, 40% less Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) and significantly less black carbon and particular matter.
  • Driving an lpg fuelled car makes a substantial contribution to a cleaner, better environment.

Safe & Quiet

Lpg converted engines are 50% quieter than diesel engines and slightly quieter than a petrol engine. Using lpg reduces engine wear, it also helps oil and spark plugs to last longer. Independent tests have demonstrated that lpg vehicles are safer in an accident and a fire than petrol vehicles, this is due to the strong steel tank that the lpg is stored in, being able to withstand a far greater impact.

As an LPGA / UKLPG Approved Autogas Installer all AGS customers have the assurance of a safe and satisfactory installation backed by a Quality Assurance Programme and Consumer Code.
